Westinghouse Commission of Recognition Announces 2026 Wall of Fame Inductees Ahead of Annual Celebration
From music and education to community leadership, this year's honorees represent generations of achievement and service connected to Pittsburgh's Westinghouse legacy.

Some legacies are built through individual accomplishments, while others are strengthened by the generations of people who continue to give back to their communities. In Pittsburgh, the Westinghouse Wall of Fame serves as a reminder of both.
The Westinghouse Commission of Recognition has announced 15 individuals selected for induction into the 2026 Wall of Fame, recognizing a new class of alumni and community contributors whose achievements, leadership, and service have helped shape the institution's history.
The announcement brings another group of distinguished names into a legacy that already includes influential figures across music, athletics, education, and public service. Among those previously honored are legendary jazz composer Billy Strayhorn, basketball pioneer Chuck Cooper, educator Helen Faison, community leader Esther Bush, the Tuskegee Airmen, and Pittsburgh Steelers scout Bill Nunn Jr.
The 2026 inductees continue that tradition, with this year's class including Wahad Ansari, Charles and Winston Carter of Brother2Brother, Clifford “Sly Jock” Charlton, Ronald Hill, Diana White-Bennett, Dr. Edith White-Johnson, Sylvia Wilson, James Winston, Ayodeji Young, Evelyn Paige-Parker, Janet Hill Smith, and Shawnice “Pepper” Wilson.
Three additional honorees, Pauline A. Maye-Clausell, Arie Kyser, and Mildred E. Pendleton, will receive honorary recognition.
Music will have a special place in this year's celebration through Brother2Brother, the musical group formed by inductees Charles and Winston Carter, who are scheduled to perform during the evening. The ceremony will also recognize the Queens of Security, Officers Kyser, Pendleton, and Maye-Clausell, for their dedication and service to the Westinghouse community.

Beyond the recognition itself, the Wall of Fame represents an important effort to preserve the stories of people who have contributed to the school's history and the broader Pittsburgh community. These celebrations create opportunities for alumni and current students to connect across generations while recognizing the different ways individuals can make a lasting impact.
The Commission's annual ceremony also supports the continued preservation and growth of the Wall of Fame, with admission proceeds directed toward its maintenance.
For alumni, families, and supporters, the evening offers an opportunity to celebrate the people behind the institution's history and recognize the contributions that continue to shape its future. As 15 new honorees join the Wall of Fame, their recognition adds another chapter to a legacy built through achievement, service, and community pride.
