'Cuffing Season', The Black Rom-Com About Rushing Love
There's a new black rom-com in cinema stealing our hearts. Starring Sean Freeman (BET's Tales), Courtney Gray (Meet The Browns), SimoneJohns, and Geneva Maccarone ( Madea's Homecoming); Cuffing Season is a comedy romance about the mishaps of rushing into love too soon.
Meet The Director
Director D Baines was born in Memphis TN and raised in Atlanta GA. In addition to directing films, Baines is a producer and writer. From a young age, Baines was a natural at filming and anything technologically related. D Baines and his sister, Ashlei would collaborate on different film projects as kids.
D Baines became interested in producing music while in high school but his love for film never left. He purchased his first camera right after high school and began shooting music videos for local rappers. Word of his talent spread quickly and he began getting booked for some of music's biggest names in music including Future,T.I., Money Bagg Yo, and Akon. Cuffin Season is D Baines first feature film and directorial debut.
In 2014, he started his own film company, Palmtree Films.
About The Film
Cuffin Season is a romantic comedy about the mishaps that happen when you're rushing love. Nate is a part-time Uber driver and a music video director. His cousin Chuck, is a con artist, who lives with him and does whatever he can to get by. Will his cunning ways catch up with him?
Nate has made a name for himself as a director. There’s just one problem, Nate doesn’t have his citizenship. He knows he must get married to keep his life in America. But Nate doesn’t just want any woman. He wants to find the right woman. Will he find love in the city where most stay single?
His time is short to find a wife so he goes on a series of dates and all of them go wrong. Will the law catch up with him before he finds the one? Or will love find him just in time? What he doesn’t know is that love has been right before his eyes all along.
