AFRICA400 / HandRadio.org se unió el miércoles 17 de marzo a las 2-3 pm EST con la invitada especial y artista indÃgena internacional Maimouna Youssef, también conocida como Mumu Fresh.
Maimouna Youssef, nativo de Baltimore, es de ascendencia choctaw, afroamericana y musulmana, y nació en una familia de artistas excepcionales profundamente arraigados en la curación, la espiritualidad y el activismo. Comenzó a cantar canciones tradicionales indÃgenas y africanas a los cuatro años y comenzó su carrera musical a los 16. Maimouna Youssef, alias Mumu Fresh, es una cantante, maestra de ceremonias, compositora, activista, mentora y facilitadora de talleres nominada al Grammy que está haciendo olas en la escena musical independiente internacional que evoluciona a partir de la trayectoria musical histórica de Miriam Makeba y Nina Simone.
El estilo musical resultante que abarca todos los géneros es uno que combina a la perfección sus diversas influencias con letras infundidas espiritualmente, a menudo socialmente conscientes.
